Heading to Singapore! Exploring Leadership and Innovation at the Intersection of Business, Technology, and Global Careers

Heading to Singapore! Exploring Leadership and Innovation at the Intersection of Business, Technology, and Global Careers

NTU Office of International Affairs (OIA) participated in the inaugural Prudential-INSEAD NextGen Academy, selecting seven NTU students from diverse disciplines—including business, public health, political science, pharmacy, and electrical engineering and computer science—to represent Taiwan in this international leadership development program. The students joined young talents from leading universities across the Asia-Pacific region for an intensive learning and exchange experience.

During the three-day training at INSEAD's Singapore campus, students worked alongside peers from across the region to explore topics including artificial intelligence applications, negotiation and communication, and Blue Ocean Strategy. Through case discussions and collaborative activities, they developed cross-cultural communication and leadership skills while examining emerging opportunities and challenges shaping industries and society.

Before the academy, NTU OIA organized an Experiential Industry Study Trip in Singapore. Students visited NTU's sister institution, Singapore Management University (SMU), gaining perspectives on Singapore's academic and regional development landscape. They also visited Grab, the Meta Data Center, and Fortis Construction to learn firsthand about the technology, digital infrastructure, and engineering industries.

The program further featured career discussions with Nathaniel, Chief Human Resources Officer at Fortis Construction; Cindy, Data Center Lead at Meta; and Thomas, Head of APAC Startups at OpenAI. Through these conversations, students gained insights into international workplaces, talent development, and the skills required to build careers across borders.

This Singapore learning journey connected leading business education, industry engagement, and international exchange, providing students with opportunities to develop a global mindset and leadership skills. By exploring the intersection of business, technology, and society, participants gained new perspectives on future career opportunities and cross-border collaboration.
