▌This winter break, NTUOIA has partnered with French brand consulting firm L’adresse Paris for the first time to co-host the “2025 2025 NTU x L'adresse Paris: The Key to Luxury Industry Traineeship.”The tour took students to Paris Fashion Week where, in addition to visiting famous landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Triumphal Arch, Louvre Museum, and the Seine River, they roamed various Parisian districts, strolled through bustling streets, witnessed star-studded fashion shows, participated in France’s largest fashion trade show "Who's Next?," and visited major luxury brand museums, foundations, special exhibitions, showrooms, and corporate department store tours.
The itinerary revolved around themes including brand communication, and sourcing and trade, innovative technology, retail experience, history, art and cultural heritage, and couture. Students visited the headquarters of the fashion giant Louis Vuitton (LV Dream), its foundation, and France’s largest start-up hub, Station F.
They experienced the Dolce & Gabbana exhibition that embodied art by interpreting history through clothing; they toured the brand and history museum of Christian Dior, and the Yves Saint Laurent history museum led by Dior’s protégé. They also visited Chanel’s ATELIER workshop, the Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry exhibition, and the STEPHEN JONES ARTISTS HATS special exhibition.
The tour was made even more special by visits to three major French department stores. A guided tour at Samaritaine, owned by Louis Vuitton, was tightly interwoven with Parisian history and culture, even incorporating filming locations from "Emily in Paris." The sales director of Printemps, along with the global purchasing director and their team, introduced the internal selection strategies for emerging designers and shared insights on luxury product displays and layouts.
Although the schedule was intense, Fashion Week provided an opportunity to catch a glimpse of a side of Paris different from the usual. Through visits, dialogues, walks, observations, and listening sessions, the students immersed themselves in the vast ecosystem of the French fashion industry and learned how deeply it was interwoven with French history, lifestyle, aesthetic cultivation, and even educational philosophy.
Although the schedule is tight due to Fashion Week, the trip offers a unique glimpse into the ever-changing street scenes of Paris. Through immersive visits, discussions, walks, observations, and listening sessions, students will gain a deep understanding of the vast ecosystem of the French fashion industry and how it is intertwined with France’s history, lifestyle, aesthetic cultivation, and even educational philosophies.
In the summer of 2025, the NTUOIA will expand the program to include new themes and countries, offering internship opportunities in Cape Town (South Africa), Prague (Czech Republic), and various cities in Japan. Please stay tuned and follow the updates of the Program.
