National Taiwan University (NTU) announced that over 60 of its students will participate in overseas internships this summer through the NTU Overseas Internship Program(OIP) and the Jewish Taiwan Cultural Association (JTCA) Taiwanese Students Study Tour in Israel. These programs aim to broaden students' international perspectives and provide them with the opportunity to experience foreign workplace cultures.
NTU held a launching ceremony for the Jewish Taiwan Cultural Association (JTCA) Taiwanese Students Study Tour in Israel and the NTU Overseas Internship Program, inspiring over 60 students who will embark on internships in Israel and other countries this summer.
According to a press release from NTU, the study tour is a collaborative effort between the Jeffrey D. Schwartz & NaTang Jewish Taiwan Cultural Association and NTU. The association will sponsor 30 students to visit globally renowned Israeli startups and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) during the summer. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage with local universities, visit cultural sites, and personally experience Jewish culture and the entrepreneurial spirit of Israel.
The NTU Overseas Internship Program is a university-level internship program that selects NTU students to intern at overseas companies, NGOs, and research institutions during the summer. The program operates on an "mentorship" model, with mentors assigned by various overseas organizations, serving as "pathfinders." This allows students to learn and intern outside the campus under the guidance of their mentors, gaining exposure to foreign workplace cultures and international service.
The NTU noted that the inaugural edition of the Overseas Internship Program has partnerships with approximately 10 organizations, including the IBM Research Institute in the United States, the Royal Botanic Gardens in the United Kingdom, and the Kenyan Sole Hope organization. It also includes laboratories from top U.S. universities such as the California Institute of Technology, Washington University in St. Louis, and the University of Chicago. This year, over 30 students were accepted into the program.
NTU President Chen Wen-Chang stated that through Jewish Taiwan Cultural Association (JTCA)Taiwanese Students Study Tour in Israel, NTU students have the opportunity to visit renowned Israeli businesses and institutions, gaining an in-depth understanding of Jewish culture. Through the OIP, students can experience foreign workplace cultures, expand their international perspectives, and explore potential future career paths. The launching ceremony marks the beginning of students' exploration of their future careers on the international stage.
