The "Chen-Yung Foundation" is a non-profit organization established by Mr. Chen,Chao-Heng and Chairman Mr. Chen, Qing-Zhi in memory of their late father, Mr. Chen Yung.

Mr. Chen Yung, originally from Quanzhou, Fujian, relocated to Taiwan and settled in Wugu Township. He was born in the ninth year of the Republic of China (1919) and lost his parents at an early age. He relied on his elder brother and sister-in-law for support. As he grew up, he engaged in business and founded the Huaxing Trading Company. With his resolute and determined character, he worked tirelessly to expand the business, and it gradually grew in scale.

In 1945, when Taiwan was restored to the Republic of China, Mr. Chen Yung reorganized the well-established Huaxing Trading Company into the Taiwan Trading Company, engaging in trade with Japan. At the same time, he participated in the government's efforts to privatize the Taiwan Paper Company and raised funds to take over the Shilin Factory, the predecessor of Shilin Paper Corporation. Later, he co-founded Wan Hai Lines Limited, Taian Insurance, China United Trust & Investment Corporation, and the Ambassador hotel, among other ventures, achieving significant success. During his more than 20 years as the Chairman of Shihlin Paper Co., Ltd., he achieved remarkable business performance and was recognized as one of Taiwan's top 100 largest privately owned leading companies.

In recent years, Mr. Chen Yung's descendants have expanded their business activities to include transportation and logistics integration, finance, real estate development, venture capital, high technology, and leisure services. Their business operations have also extended beyond Taiwan, establishing a presence in Asia and aiming for global reach, with substantial success. Wan Hai Lines Limited, in particular, has performed impressively, ranking among the world's top 20 shipping companies and excelling in profitability and stability.

Singapore UTAC Group and EPISTAR are both listed among the world's top five semiconductor packaging and testing facilities and top four LED chip manufacturers, respectively, in the year 2007.

Mr. Chen Yung's descendants uphold his principles of steady and honest business practices, treating others with sincerity and respect, and maintaining integrity and trust in their dealings. They aim to follow the exemplary family values left by their father.

In 2000, Mr. Chen,Chao-Heng and Mr. Chen, Qing-Zhi, deeply influenced by their late father's teachings, established the "Chen-Yung Foundation." Apart from awarding scholarships to outstanding doctoral and master's students, the foundation nurtures elite talents for the country and sponsors various academic research. It also provides financial support to underprivileged students for tuition, nutrition, and other charitable activities. This is done in honor of Mr. Chen Yung's wish to give back to society during his lifetime and his desire to foster young talents.
