Program Eligibility

  • Students must have active NTU student status in the 2023/24 academic year and during the internship period.
  • Part-time students, dual degree students, non-degree seeking students are not eligible to apply.
  • Students from all academic levels and professional backgrounds can apply for this program. However, host organizations may have different selecting criteria on each position.
  • Non-Taiwanese passport holders are eligible to apply. However, they should pay attention to their legal resident status in Taiwan.
  • Some positions are only open to Taiwanese passport holders and certain nationals.

Fee

Application Fee (non-refundable) : NTD $1,000

Program Fee (non-refundable) : NTD $5,000

  • Once the students are admitted to this program, they will be charged NTD $5000 program fee to participate in this program. The fee will be non-refundable unless the reason for cancellation is because of non-student-related factors.
  • If you are an economically disadvantaged student, the application fee and the program fee will be waived.

Credits

All students will be automatically registered for a “Summer Internship” summer course with 2 credits. Summer session courses are free of charge to NTU students.

However, students who meet one of the following conditions should pay a credit fee for this course (the fee can be different every year, depending on the announcement of the Office of Academic Affairs).

  1. Students have already studied for more than four years in their undergraduate degree and are taking no more than 9 credits in the spring semester.
  2. Students have suspended their studies in the spring semester.
  3. For further information, please refer HERE.
  4. If you have taken the summer internship course (NTU International Mentorship Program/NTU Overseas Internship Program) before, you can still join the Overseas Internship Program. However, the summer internship credits will only be counted once.

Scholarship

Admitted students are automatically considered to be scholarship candidates.

Program Timeline

November 16, 2023 - January 5, 2024

  • Submit the application and pay the application fee on the OIP website

January 6, 2024 - February 29, 2024 

  • Application review and matchmaking

March 2024

  • Result announcement
  • Pay the program fee
  • Submit the Confirmation & Parental/Guardian Consent Form
  • Prepare for traveling (visa, airline ticket, accommodation, insurance, etc…)

April, 2024 - May, 2024

  • Participate in the pre-departure meeting
  • Apply for approval for going abroad HERE (Taiwanese men who have not completed military service only)

June 10, 2024 - September 1, 2024

  • Do the internship

September 2024

  • Submit the reflection
