萊斯大學MACHI計畫是由美國萊斯大學河野淳一郎教授(Prof. Junichiro Kono)為理工專長(STEM領域:Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)之優秀大學學士班女學生所設計的研習計畫,包含線上課程以及為期5週的短期研究實習,計畫主旨在介紹美國高等教育、文化交流體驗,並開拓學生世界觀與理工相關研究經驗,啟發學生未來立志於科研工作。
註:此計畫亦有與日本的大學合作,稱之為TOMODACHI-Dow Women’s STEM Leadership and Research Program
2025年9月至2026年1月:線上課程
探索職涯發展、研究調查、團隊合作以及文化交流,在跨文化溝通中增進英文口說的流程度和簡報能力,建立自信心。
2026年2月9日至3月13日:實地研究
地點:萊斯大學
加入美國的研究實驗室,由研究生和教授手把手帶領、指導。

INTERNSHIP INFO(英文)
MACHI Program offers a five-week internship experience tailored to a diverse cohort of female students majoring in STEM in Taiwan. This program's primary goal is to further diminish the gender gap in the STEM fields in Taiwan while advancing educational equity. During the internship, implemented by and hosted at Rice University in0 Houston, Texas, participants delve into the intricacies of international collaboration and engagement between the U.S. and Taiwan. They also receive hands-on exposure to scientific research practices in the U.S. and opportunities for career exploration, English language enrichment, cultural engagement, and collaboration with American students.
Note: This program also collaborates with universities in Japan under the name TOMODACHI-Dow Women’s STEM Leadership and Research Program.
