The Platform and Driver Specialty (P&DS for short) is a team of several top engineers in the LED Electronics R&D, focusing on advanced development of new technical platforms and common building-blocks that are planned for the 6 to 18 months future. Based on the high-quality platform from P&DS, world class LED Drivers can then be developed in new product development (NPD) teams within LE R&D. In P&DS we closely follow the new technologies from academia, suppliers and other industries, with the intention of bridging the gap between new technology and real product, and driving the LED lighting industry to build a more sustainable future. Currently, WBG devices-based power conversion and digital control are the main subjects being and/or will be developed in P&DS. We are also responsible for the technical competence building in LE R&D and the whole electronics community with Signify. We offer consulting to problem solving, organize regular and on-demand training in power electronics to the community.
As a Development Engineer intern, you will be responsible for a small project during your internship.
Based on your skill set, the project can be 1) part of a big platform involving power conversion with new topology and control with new algorithm, 2) a common building-block circuit or 3) part of the continuous improvement activities in LE R&D. Depending on the type of your project, you will communicate with different cross regional and/or cross functional counterpart.
You will be guided by your mentor through the Signify company culture, way of working and actual process. You will receive training from your mentor or other senior engineers wherever necessary.
