All of the participants are required to enroll in the summer course "Summer Internship". You could still join the program and return to Taiwan in September to graduate and finish the leave school process.
A certificate of English proficiency is not required to apply for the internship. However, if you have one, please feel free to upload it as a supplementary document.
Please note that some countries may require a certificate of English proficiency for a visa.
You need to pay the visa fee by yourself. Even if the host organization sponsors your visa, you might still need to pay the visa application fee.
The organization will carefully review your motivation letter to evaluate your qualifications, skills, and motivation for the position.
Economically disadvantaged students are those who meet one or more of the following criteria:
1) Students who are citizens of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and from government-certified low-income households, low-to-middle-income households, or families undergoing hardships.
2) Students who are citizens of the Republic of China (Taiwan) whose total household income (including the income of the applicant, the applicant’s parents, spouse, children, unmarried siblings, married siblings who live with the applicant, and any grandparent registered in the same household or who live with the applicant) meets the following criteria:
a) Total annual income of NTD800,000 or less
b) Total annual income interest of NTD10,000 or less c) Total annual business income of NTD50,000 or less
3) Students who are not citizens of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and hold a certificate issued by the competent authorities of their country of nationality proving their economically disadvantaged, low-income, or tax-exempt status.
經濟不利學生為符合下列下一情況:
1、具中華民國國籍且領有政府核發低收入戶、中低收入戶及特殊境遇 家庭證明者。
2、具中華民國國籍且家庭總所得收入(包括申請人及其父母、配偶、 子女、未婚之兄弟姐妹、已婚且共同生活之兄弟姐妹、同一戶籍或 共同生活之(外)祖父母之收入)同時符合以下規定者:
(1)家庭總收入全年未超過新臺幣八十萬元。

No, there is no age limit to apply to the Overseas Internship Program. Please check the eligibility part on our website.
Students are NOT required to enroll by themselves, this will be done automatically by NTU OIA.
No. You are obligated to enroll in this course while joining this program
No. Before NTU proactively offers the connection, any contact between students, mentors and organizations is strictly prohibited. Since each organization is quite busy, NTU OIA is the contact person between students and the host organizations before the internship. Besides, this is also to ensure all students have a fair chance throughout the application process. If students are found to have initiated contact with any organization members, NTU OIA has the right to withdraw the students’ application from the entire program.
Students are NOT required to write five separate CVs or motivation letters; however, you may do so if you wish to incorporate a message specific to each organization.
Yes. As this is a NTU course, students will earn credits. At the end of the 12-16 weeks of the internship, students must produce a graded report detailing their learning experiences. Guidelines of this report will be sent to students in due time.
Yes! One of the main goals of the Overseas Internship Program is to provide students with a wide range of internship placements across all sectors. If you fit the criteria for applying to a particular internship, you are more than welcome to apply.
Some expected working hours are stated in the job description. However, working hours for each intern vary, which might be negotiable between students, mentors and organizations within reasonable limits.
The final grade will be calculated by the mentors' evaluation of the students' performance (70%) and the students final report (30%). The students are subject to fail the course if they do not finish the internship.
Accommodation is usually not provided. However, you might seek suggestions once you are accepted from the program and connected to the mentors.
Regardless of which degree student you are, each letter of recommendation must be signed by two individuals.
Since the internship is a graded course, NTU OIA highly suggests students to pay full attention to this internship in order to perform well. However, if students have to take more than one internship, students should follow the VISA requirement in that country.
Yes. However, for the extended internship, students need to take all the responsibilities by themselves. NTU OIA will not be part of the process after the 12-week internship is over.

Yes, you can apply to the Overseas International Program if you still hold student status at NTU. However, the Summer Internship Course credits will only be counted once.
It is FORBIDDEN to contact any liaison or anyone from the host organizations directly before you are admitted by the host organization.
Yes, you can apply for the scholarship as long as you apply for the OIP.
