計畫基地座落於 Mam-Maya(馬姆—馬雅) 地區。

2026 NTU x Local Hope Traineeship: Guatemala - Maya Culture & Community Learning

Join the NTU x Local Hope Traineeship: Guatemala - Maya Culture & Community Learning, a 12-day immersive programme that places students alongside indigenous communities to understand how community-led, sustainable development is built in practice.

For the first time, parents of participating students may join the programme alongside the student cohort. This arrangement recognises learning as something that can extend beyond the classroom and across generations.

Based in the Mam–Maya region, the programme offers a rare opportunity to live and learn directly with indigenous communities that have benefited from improved access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity over the past two decades. Participants will visit homes, share daily life, and take part in community activities through respectful, hands-on engagement.

Participants engage with Local Hope’s established initiatives, including healthcare clinics and mobile medical jornadas, education support, nutrition and food security projects, clean water initiatives, and inclusive programmes for children, youth, and adults with special needs. Rather than creating new interventions, participants learn by engaging with systems that are already in place.

The experience also includes visits to Guatemala City, Antigua Guatemala, and Lake Atitlán, providing historical, cultural, and environmental contexts.
