Genenet Technology is a company integrating state-of-art deep learning neural networks into gene circuits. Our patented technology can be applied to any field that needs genetic engineering (e.g. medicine, synthetic biology, and pharmaceutical industries). We plan to offer genetic circuit design service, consultation service, and patent licensing to academic or industrial research units. We are now working on applications including increasing PHA bioplastic production, CHO cell bioproduction yield and using cardiac organoids for drug discovery.

Internship Job Description

At Genenet Technology, we are building the next-generation platform to turn cells into AI computers by developing cutting-edge technology in the biological domain. We aim to empower other like-minded and passionate individuals to contribute to this mission. We are seeking a Biomedical AI/ML Engineer here to accelerate our design of novel AI solutions for the industry. This person will work alongside our leadership team to directly impact the product development cycle to determine customer needs, brainstorm solutions, and generate novel and scalable AI models tailored for challenging biological problems. We’re looking for someone who is quick, technically strong, and not afraid to ask questions.

Responsibilities:

Take ownership of, design, and implement AI/ML-driven solutions along the entire model development life cycle
Research and develop state-of-the-art machine learning models, including deep learning models, to optimize model performance on a range of biomedical prediction tasks
Deliver robust, tested, and performant code in an agile environment
Liaise with experts in biology, medicine,and experimentation to ensure optimal collection of data to train biomedical machine learning models
Lead early project definition and scoping together with domain experts across the company

Preferred Intern Skill Sets or Qualities

Familiarity with medical science-related, quantitative, or engineering discipline (computer science,computational biology, bioinformatics, engineering, among others)
Familiarity with machine learning literature, foundational mathematics and statistics, and state-of-the-art modeling approaches
Previous experience in designing,developing, and delivering robust AIML software solutions, including demonstrated advanced programming expertise in Python
Background or interest in biology or medicine is a plus but not required

Additional Bonus:

A record of any scientific publications
Knowledge or interest in disease biology, molecular biology, and medicine
Experience working with biomedical data (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, electronic health records, clinical images)
