Annika Freudenberger is the Senior Programs Account Manager at Impact Hub Phnom Penh, where she leads the entrepreneurship department and communication department. In this role, she oversees the development and quality implementation of 4-6 programs annually, spanning sectors such as agriculture, environment, and digitalization. She supports a team of program managers, liaises with external partners, and provides guidance on program design. Annika also oversees the communications department, offering strategic direction to amplify Impact Hub’s visibility and storytelling around its impact.
Before joining Impact Hub Phnom Penh, Annika worked as a strategic communications and organizational development consultant, based in Phnom Penh and working with nonprofit organizations in Cambodia and around the world. Her experience covers a broad range of areas, including youth leadership,adolescent health, climate action, and food systems transformation.
Annika first moved to Cambodia in 2020 as a Henry Luce Scholar, where she worked at the Center for Khmer Studies in Siem Reap leading its urban research program. Prior to that, she was a Ruckelshaus Fellow at Meridian Institute in Washington, D.C., where she supported government, civil society, and private sector initiatives addressing climate and food system challenges. Annika holds a B.A. in Urban Studies from Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City.
Impact Hub Phnom Penh’s Communications Department is a core engine within the organization. Deeply integrated with our various program departments, members of the Communications team are responsible for telling the story of Impact Hub Phnom Penh and of our remarkable community of 1,500+ impact makers across Cambodia. Since our founding in 2015, Impact Hub Phnom Penh has become one of the most well-known organizations locally, and one of the strongest voices for entrepreneurship development in Cambodia. Our alumni community is known as the “who’s who” of inspiring local innovators. This position in the ecosystem has been built thanks to the impact of our programs and to storytelling and creative communications. As Impact Hub Phnom Penh celebrates our 10-year anniversary in 2015, we are looking to re-energize and strengthen our communications strategy and level-up our storytelling, production, multimedia communications, and visibility so that we can continue showcasing the innovations and impact makers that are driving Cambodia’social and economic progress.
