FabLab Nepal is a digital fabrication and innovation laboratory that supports individuals, startups, researchers, and organizations in transforming ideas into functional prototypes and innovative solutions. The department specializes in technical consulting, rapid prototyping, product development, digital fabrication, and design support. Equipped with advanced fabrication tools and technologies, FabLab Nepal provides expertise in areas such as 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining, electronics, and product design. It also collaborates with entrepreneurs, academic institutions, and development partners to foster innovation, research, and problem-solving through technology-driven solutions, helping bring creative ideas from concept to reality.
The Technical Internship at FabLab Nepal offers interns practical exposure to digital fabrication, prototyping, product development, and technical innovation. Interns will work alongside the technical team to support projects that involve designing, building, testing, and refining prototypes while gaining hands-on experience with fabrication technologies and equipment.
Throughout the internship, interns will be guided in areas such as digital design, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining, electronics, and basic machine operations. They will assist in preparing design files, operating fabrication equipment under supervision, assembling prototypes, conducting testing, maintaining documentation, and supporting technical consulting projects for startups, researchers, and partner organizations.
Interns may also contribute to innovation projects, research activities, workshops, and training sessions while learning how technical solutions are developed from concept to prototype. The internship provides valuable experience in problem-solving, design thinking, and the practical application of engineering and fabrication technologies.
By the end of the internship, interns will have developed foundational technical skills in digital fabrication, prototyping, equipment handling, and product development, while strengthening their analytical, creative, and collaborative abilities in an innovation-driven environment.
