Eddy Chen serves as President of CX Technology Corporation (VN), where he has led the company’s Vietnam plant since 2019. His career with CX Technology encompasses sales and marketing leadership and executive management of manufacturing operations in China and Vietnam. Eddy served as Director of Sales and Marketing from 2005 to 2012, followed by his tenure as President of the Shanghai plant from 2012 to 2019. This combination of commercial and operational experience has shaped the approach to aligning customer requirements, business strategy, and manufacturing execution.
Eddy's professional background brings together business development, manufacturing management, and cross-functional coordination within an international industrial environment. In the current role, he works within a business whose manufacturing capabilities include cold forging, precision metal stamping, CNC machining, and surface treatment. Drawing on his experience across commercial and plant leadership roles, he approaches industrial transformation through both strategic and operational perspectives, with an emphasis on connecting technology, implementation feasibility, and business objectives.
As an internship mentor, Eddy aims to bridge academic learning and professional practice by helping students examine manufacturing challenges in their broader business context. His mentoring approach emphasizes rigorous analysis, structured problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and clear communication. Through engagement with practical projects, he will guide students in developing well-founded recommendations and understanding the considerations that inform executive decision-making. Drawing on his experience in China and Vietnam, Eddy also seeks to broaden their understanding of international manufacturing operations and the importance of translating ideas into practical, commercially relevant solutions.
The President's Office of CX Technology Corporation provides strategic coordination and executive oversight for cross-functional business initiatives. The proposed internship will be situated within the company's industrial transformation and business development activities, providing students with opportunities to engage with real-world challenges involving manufacturing operations, supply chain management, and emerging technologies.
Through collaboration with engineering, operations, and management teams, interns will develop an understanding of how strategic priorities are translated into operational improvements and commercially viable initiatives. The internship emphasizes practical problem-solving, structured analysis, and communication across technical and business functions.
Students will be exposed to a cross-border working environment involving Taiwan and Vietnam, where they will examine operational challenges, evaluate potential solutions, and develop actionable recommendations. The experience is designed to bridge academic knowledge and business execution while building the analytical, collaborative, and communication capabilities required for future leadership roles.
The Strategy & Business Development Intern will participate in a nine-week, project-based internship focused on identifying and addressing real-world industrial transformation challenges across Taiwan and Vietnam.
During the first week, the intern will attend an orientation at the Taipei headquarter, developing an understanding of the company's technology, products, operations, and strategic priorities. In the second week, the intern will participate in on-site research in Vietnam, conducting interviews, observing business processes, and defining the scope of a specific transformation project.
During weeks three through eight the intern will work with engineering, supply chain, and management teams to analyze relevant data, evaluate potential solutions, develop proof-of-concept proposals where appropriate, and assess implementation feasibility and potential return on investment.
Possible project areas include equipment reliability and predictive maintenance, AI-enabled quality inspection, and internal logistics optimization. The specific project will be determined based on business needs, student capabilities, and available data.
In the final week, the intern will prepare and deliver a 20-minute executive presentation, followed by a 10-minute question-and-answer session, outlining the problem, proposed solution, expected business value, and implementation considerations.
The internship provides hands-on experience in structured problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, strategic analysis, and executive communication under the guidance of on-site and Taipei-based mentors.
