PERSONAL BIO

Miho Ambiru is an educator and entrepreneur with a passion for language, culture, and supporting students in their global journeys. She holds the position of director at Dash co., ltd. Furthermore, in 2010, she founded Taiwan Study Support Center, a nonprofit organization that helps Japanese high school students explore higher education opportunities in Taiwan. I have had the chance to visit schools across Japan, give presentations and seminars, and also provide guidance to students and their families.

In 2019, Ms. Ambiru launched Hawaii AM Holdings Inc. in Honolulu, Hawaii, along with 2 other companies as its member. This venture focuses on connecting property owners and guests from around the world, helping manage vacation rentals and provide smooth, comfortable stays.

From 2023 to 2025, Ms. Ambiru also served as an instructor for “Global Culture and Communication”, a course offered by Shih Chien University and conducted mainly in Japan. In this role, she shared insights into Japanese culture and encouraged mutual understanding among students from diverse backgrounds. Her past experience includes teaching English and science at Tokyo Chinese School, which further broadened her appreciation for cross-disciplinary education.

Ms. Ambiru holds a master’s degree in teaching Chinese as a Second Language from National Taiwan Normal University and a bachelor’s degree in Biochemical Technology from National Taiwan University. As a native speaker of Japanese and fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English. She genuinely enjoys working in multicultural environments where she can facilitate connection, growth, and learning among individuals. Brief Introduction of the Department

【Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning – Teaching department】

We provide Mandarin and English language education for Japanese high school students preparing to study at universities in Taiwan. Many of our students begin studying Mandarin only after deciding to pursue higher education in Taiwan, so our programs are designed not only to improve their language skills but also to prepare them for the academic and cultural challenges of studying abroad.

The department conducts regular language classes, online learning activities, intensive training programs and student development activities. We place importance on helping students become more independent, responsible, and confident in communicating across cultures. In addition to language instruction, students learn about Taiwanese society, university life, study habits, and the attitudes expected of international students.

Interns will work alongside experienced instructors and staff members to support classes and student activities. They will observe how Japanese students learn Mandarin and English, assist with the preparation of educational materials, and contribute their own perspectives as university students from Taiwan. Through this experience, interns will develop practical skills in language education, intercultural communication, student guidance, and educational program management.

Internship Job Description

The intern will assist instructors in Mandarin and English language classes for Japanese high school students who are preparing to enter universities in Taiwan. Duties may include supporting small-group activities, conversation practice, pronunciation exercises, classroom discussions, and online lessons. Interns may also help prepare worksheets, presentation materials, quizzes, and cultural learning activities under the guidance of the supervising instructor.

In addition to classroom support, interns will participate in student orientations, intensive study programs, summer training activities, and cultural exchange events. They may be asked to introduce Taiwanese culture, university life, student experiences, and social issues in Taiwan in ways that are appropriate for high school students. Interns will also encourage students to use Mandarin and English actively and to develop the confidence and independence required for studying abroad.

This internship is not limited to teaching language content. Interns will learn how educators guide and motivate teenagers, respond to different learning needs, and create a positive but disciplined learning environment. They will be expected to act as responsible role models while working closely with instructors and staff. All teaching activities will be supervised by experienced personnel.

Brief Introduction of the Department

【Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning – Student Support and Administration Department】

The Student Support and Administration Department supports Japanese students who are preparing to enter universities in Taiwan. In addition to providing Mandarin and English language education, the center assists students with the administrative preparations required before studying abroad, including the collection and organization of university application documents, health examination records, financial certificates, visa-related materials, and other necessary forms. The department works closely with students, parents, instructors, the Taiwan Study Support Center, Japanese high schools, and universities in Taiwan. It role is to ensure that students understand the required procedures, complete their documents accurately, and meet important deadlines. Staff members also provide guidance through orientations, individual consultations, and written instructions so that students can gradually take responsibility for their own preparations. The administrative office is located separately from the language teaching department. Interns assigned to this position will work primarily at the administrative office and will gain practical experience in international student administration, document management, cross-cultural communication, and educational support.

Internship Job Description

The intern will assist with student support and administrative procedures at the Taiwan Mandarin Learning Center under the supervision of experienced staff members. Duties may include organizing student records, checking the submission status of required documents, reviewing document checklists, updating internal tracking sheets, and arranging materials related to university applications and visa procedures. The intern may assist with documents such as application forms, academic records, health examination certificates, financial certificates, admission letters, passport copies, and other materials required for studying in Taiwan. The intern may also help prepare guidance materials, organize information received from universities, proofread simple English and Chinese documents, and support orientations or individual student consultations. Because the work involves personal information and important application documents, the intern must follow all confidentiality and data-handling instructions. The intern will not independently provide immigration advice, determine a student’s eligibility, or contact universities, government offices, students, or parents. All work will be reviewed by responsible staff. Through this internship, the student will learn how accurate administrative work supports young people preparing for international education.
