Early detection plays a pivotal role in the effective mitigation of disease outbreaks. Unfortunately, traditional diagnostic methods present several formidable challenges, such as the reliance on a laboratory setting, the need for costly equipment, and the necessity for highly trained professionals. These constraints contribute to elevated expenses, protracted turnaround times for diagnostic results, and subsequent delays in administering appropriate treatments and preventive measures.
At ZYTCA, our mission is to revolutionize disease diagnostic methodologies by offering a swifter, dependable, cost-effective, and user-friendly disease detection platform. Our goal is to empower front-line disease surveillance efforts in animal health.
We are currently seeking a passionate and driven intern who possesses a deep commitment to overcoming the technical challenges associated with developing point-of-care diagnostic assays for animal diseases. This individual will collaborate closely with our dynamic R&D team and actively participate in the entire product development cycle. This innovative product may encompass a diagnostic assay targeting one or multiple diseases or a sample pre-treatment assay designed to enrich and purify nucleic acids from clinical samples. The ideal candidate should possess foundational skills in molecular laboratory techniques, adhere to strong laboratory practices, demonstrate independence in experimental design and troubleshooting, and be a proactive problem-solver.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
