Master in Geography
One of the most challenging yet memorable moments was the icebreaking activity with Kyushu University students. International students were encouraged to speak Japanese, while local students spoke English. Everyone was stepping out of their comfort zones. It was my very first time introducing myself in Japanese. Even though I was so nervous that I kept repeating the subject over and over, our genuine desire to connect broke through the language barrier. We even bonded over learning some "Fukuoka dialect" (Hakata-ben) and made new friends.
