Bachelor in Electrical Engineering
This trip was not only about serving the people of San Martín, but also about sharing a part of our own culture with them. One of the things we introduced was baseball, a sport that is deeply familiar to us but completely new to many of the local children. We tried our best to explain the rules, but to be honest, baseball is far more complicated than soccer. Since the children had never been exposed to the game before, it was difficult for them to grasp the basic concepts. Despite the confusion, they were eager to learn and enjoyed every moment of the experience. In a way, this was a cultural shock for me as well. Baseball had always seemed like such a familiar and universal part of my childhood that I had never imagined meeting children who had never even heard of it. This experience reminded me that what we consider ordinary can be entirely new to someone else, and that cultural exchange is not only about learning from others but also about sharing a part of ourselves.
