My role was to work on AI-driven tools to help veterinarians interpret tumors more accurately, using machine learning, large language models, and a cytology classifier trained on cellular images. It felt meaningful knowing our work could one day save animals’ lives. Being part of the team showed me how fast AI research moves and how collaboration often sparks insights none of us could reach alone. Experiencing startup culture in the UK was another highlight; compared to Taiwan, I found a stronger spirit of entrepreneurship, which inspired me at an Oxford networking event. Overall, this internship gave me technical growth, new perspectives, and a deep appreciation for the UK’s culture and diversity. Someday, I hope to return.
