Master in Health Behaviors and Community Sciences
I initially felt that topics like wildlife conservation, wildlife crime, and forensic science were quite far from my field. However, as the traineeship progressed, I was surprised to discover that many of these topics were actually closely connected to public health in ways I had not expected. For example, zoonotic diseases clearly demonstrate how closely animal health and human health are linked. At first, these topics felt challenging, but they pushed me to think differently and remain curious. I gradually realized that these issues should not only concern specialists. They influence global health, environmental stability, and society as a whole, so it is important for more people to pay attention to them. Overall, this traineeship provided me with valuable cross-cultural experiences and helped me better understand how public health connects with environmental issues, culture, and global sustainability. It strengthened my motivation to pursue public health work with an international perspective and reminded me how important interdisciplinary collaboration truly is.
