One of the most valuable aspects of my internship was the opportunity to work on projects related to the startup ecosystem in Hyderabad. My responsibilities included analyzing information related to startups and applicants, organizing stakeholder data, supporting data-related tasks, and presenting information through visualization. I also had the opportunity to use Tableau to transform relatively unstructured information into more understandable and actionable visualizations. Previously, I tended to associate data analysis primarily with technical skills such as SQL, Python, statistics, and visualization tools. During the internship, however, I realized that technical skills are only part of the process. A good analyst also needs business understanding, critical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to identify the right questions before looking for answers. This helped me see data analysis as a bridge between information and decision-making rather than simply a technical function.
