What I appreciated most was the University of Chicago’s culture of discussion. The atmosphere in the laboratory was highly supportive, and the senior researchers were generous in sharing their knowledge of nanoparticles from different perspectives. When I encountered an unexpected result, there was usually someone willing to discuss what might have happened and help me consider the next step.
