One memorable, simple icebreaker was when we had to pick one random object in front of us. I was confused at first, why should we do that, and she did not even give any clear explanation of it. However, after holding a different object in our hands, Romi (Impact Hub KTM) asked us to explain why we picked that random object. It turned out that this was not only to train our communication skills, but also to let us know that in a random situation, our brains are wired to find patterns and meaning in everything we face, whether by connecting them to our existing memories or by creating entirely new ideas. I learned that in real-life situations, it is rare to choose our starting circumstances. So, our success depends on our ability to take the “random object” and find a creative and valuable way to utilize it.
