At INSEAD, we explored strategic thinking, Blue Ocean Strategy, negotiation, communication, and leadership. The concepts were useful, but the group activities stayed with me more strongly. Participants came from different countries, universities, and fields of study, so we rarely looked at a problem in exactly the same way. One person might focus on the market or cost, while another would look at customer needs, implementation, or social impact. That difference made the discussions more interesting. It also changed how I thought about leadership. The leader is not always the person who gives the quickest answer. Sometimes, leadership means listening carefully, recognizing where different opinions connect, and turning several ideas into a direction that the team can actually follow. This became much clearer when we had to make decisions within a limited amount of time.
