I liked those small moments of sharing our personal preferences, daily feelings, and special things that had happened during the day. These relationships are often difficult to build in regular classes or college, where people rarely have enough time or space for such comfortable conversations. At the same time, I felt a strong sense of hospitality and equality. Although we were students, the staff were always thoughtful and supportive, but they also shared the same food with us and spent time with us. This made me feel comfortable and reduced the distance between “teachers” and “students.”
