This internship in Awaji Island exposed me to many things I could never have experienced in Taiwan, and it opened my eyes to new possibilities for thinking about regional revitalization back home. Throughout the experience, I came to realize that issues like aging populations, declining birth rates, and the outflow and shrinking of the labor force are no longer challenges unique to any single country—they have become global problems that demand collective attention. Through the various activities and site visits during this trip, although we are still far from finding definitive answers, I believe the study tour brought us one step closer. What impressed me most throughout the trip was Japan's meticulous attention to detail and its follow-through in executing projects. Nearly every facility we visited was already running smoothly, backed by thoughtful and comprehensive planning that left little room for criticism. From my perspective, if these facilities in Awaji Island were transplanted to Taiwan, they would likely become widely admired models.
