Beyond technical work, the internship gave me valuable insight into the business and strategic side of engineering. From casual chats, I learned how a global company adapts to market shifts, competitors’ products, and supplier issues—not just with technical fixes but with supply chain, cost, and customer value in mind. It showed me that engineers must be strategic thinkers who see the bigger picture. Living in Shanghai was also an adventure. I adapted quickly to the metro, mobile payments, and local food, while weekends exploring revealed the city’s contrasts: historic French Concession streets, futuristic skyscrapers, and family-run restaurants. This blend of professional growth and cultural immersion made the summer unforgettable.
