Master in Molecular and Comparative Pathobiology
The traineeship was incredibly rich and engaging. We learned about the challenges faced by cheetahs, rhinos, sharks, abalone, baboons, and many other wildlife species. It was eye-opening to realize that our daily consumption habits may still have a significant impact on wildlife conservation. Living inside the reserve was one of the most unique experiences of my life. We were, in a sense, living almost directly alongside the animals. I have always struggled with the question of whether animals that we love should be kept in captivity simply because we want to observe or protect them. These experiences stirred many thoughts within me. There is always so much more to learn—knowledge that feels as vast as the universe—and the only appropriate attitude we can have is humility. Gaining life lessons beyond my expectations made this journey truly unforgettable.
