This gave me a new understanding of Regional revitalization. I realized that it could become a natural part of village life. Xela Aid understood how important weaving is to Maya culture, so they created a space where this tradition could be respected and where woven products could have more opportunities. The women of San Martín were not simply people receiving help. They were the real owners of this culture, continuing their traditions and passing down their skills. However, it changed the way I think about cultural revitalization. Local Hope does not simply provide money from above. Instead, it works with the local community, understands people's real needs, and strengthens the networks that already exist. This internship helped us understand the local community not through cold numbers about politics or economics, but through real people and living culture.
