[2026 Summer] Awaji: Revitalizing a Timeless Island Traineeship

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Master in Health Policy and Management

testimonials

Before joining the traineeship, I mainly understood regional revitalization in terms of investment, infrastructure, and industrial development. After visiting Awaji Island, however, I came to realize that regional revitalization is ultimately about people. Agriculture becomes sustainable because farmers, universities, companies, and governments cooperate. Technology becomes meaningful when it enables more people to participate in society. Traditional industries survive because craftspeople continue to pass on their knowledge, and unused spaces regain value because communities are willing to reimagine them. This traineeship not only deepened my understanding of regional revitalization but also encouraged me to learn from the unique strengths and experiences of different countries.
