Interning at Ambarella in Silicon Valley, I engineered a photon transfer curve (PTC) noise-synthesis model to streamline training pipelines for image denoising networks. Validating mathematical models against sensor RAW data taught me that real-world engineering requires experimental design and critical validation rather than just writing code. Transitioning to a workplace with flexible hours and no clock-in system initially felt novel, but quickly taught me the value of personal accountability and results-driven time management. Proactively consulting senior engineers with structured questions kept complex technical decisions on track. Returning to the U.S. for my second OIP placement allowed me to focus deeply on project execution, leaving me far more confident in navigating open-ended engineering ambiguity, communicating technical findings, and thriving in autonomous, international software teams.
