My visit to Kyushu University was one of the highlights of the trip. In addition to exploring the campus, we had the opportunity to interact with local students and communicate with them in Japanese. Although I'm not yet fluent in Japanese and sometimes had to rely on simple sentences, facial expressions, or gestures to express myself, the entire experience was both enjoyable and rewarding. When studying Japanese, I usually focus on vocabulary, grammar, and exams. However, it wasn't until I had real conversations with Japanese students that I truly realized language is a tool for connecting with people and understanding different cultures. This kind of authentic, natural interaction is something that simply researching information online can never replace, and it became one of the most memorable and meaningful takeaways from my trip.
