This internship is really beneficial to me. It improved me professionally in several ways. Secondly, I realized that I still have a lot to improve in time management. When facing a packed schedule of meetings, it is important to schedule your time precisely and execute accordingly; otherwise you won’t be able to get the job done in time. My current strategy is that I’d rather make less progress than stay up late, because that will ruin my next day. Lastly, my academic integrity improved under the guidance of my mentor. My mentor then gave me an important lesson: you should never report results that you do not fully understand, because people assume you understand everything behind the results, and if you don’t, that might hurt your reputation. This reminded me that research requires getting to the very bottom of things, and I should always remember that as a researcher.
