Master in Business Administration
This internship transformed me from a quiet, reserved person into someone capable of stepping into a salesperson’s role. By navigating uncertainty and learning by doing, I discovered I am not suited to roles with constant verbal communication, that I value flexible hours, and that I struggle in hierarchical cultures where moods of supervisors dominate. As the saying goes, “you only truly understand a country once you’ve lived there.” Time with Indonesian colleagues revealed that many CHINDO don’t speak Mandarin, wealth gaps exist between ethnic groups, Jakarta centers on malls, and long waits for food are normal. Living abroad also deepened my appreciation for Taiwan’s privileges.
