All of these newly acquired skills culminated in a demanding, full-scale mock wildlife crime scene simulation. Working collaboratively in teams, we were tasked with processing a realistic poaching scenario from start to finish. This involved establishing a secure perimeter, discovering and gathering diverse physical and biological evidence, recording accurate GPS coordinates, and compiling complete, court-ready legal documentation. Following the field simulation, we transitioned to what was arguably the most intense phase of the program: the Moot Court session. Sitting in a formal mock courtroom setting and testifying under rigorous cross-examination made it abundantly clear that collecting physical evidence is only half of an investigator's responsibility. If an investigator cannot present facts clearly, articulate technical scientific procedures, and maintain absolute composure under questioning, even the most compelling physical evidence can fail to secure a conviction.
