Besides learning about the game industry, the local cultural experiences arranged during the program also left a lasting impression on me. Since it was my first visit to Fukuoka, these activities allowed me to appreciate the city's history and traditions beyond its modern attractions. One of my favorite experiences was painting a Hakata doll. By decorating the doll myself, I gained a much greater appreciation for the craftsmanship behind the beautifully detailed works displayed in the exhibition cases. What had initially appeared to be simple decorations became examples of extraordinary artistic skill and patience. The experience reminded me of a wood-carving painting activity that I had participated in previously in Taiwan. Comparing these two experiences made me realize that combining traditional crafts with interactive cultural activities is an excellent way to preserve local heritage while making it more accessible and engaging for visitors. Rather than simply observing cultural artifacts in a museum, participants can develop a deeper emotional connection through hands-on experiences.
