Asia Centre is a research institute that aims to create social impact in the region. It was first established in Bangkok, Thailand in 2015 and in 2018 a second Centre was established in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. In 2021, Asia Centre was granted the UNECOSOC Special Consultative Status. It serves as a knowledge partner, undertaking evidence-based research on issues affecting the Asian region and developing toolkits for CSOs, development aid agencies, INGOs, media workers, and policy-makers. It convenes events such as conferences, seminars, webinars and workshops and amplifies its advocacy by producing digital content for media and social media to widen public engagement. In 2024, Asia Centre’s third Centre was founded in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Asia Centre’s Internship Programme offers a well-rounded experience in a not-for-profit organization. The programme gives interns the opportunity to work in a dynamic and international team, where you will gain real work experience in preparation for a future job. Interns are assured of excellent mentorship from our directors and staff on the implementation of projects. They are also exposed to various tasks in communications, partnership development and research, thereby giving them a strong professional foundation and an integrated experience.
Interns will undertake research, conduct interviews and surveys, draft notes, and reference content. Interns will also compile and draft information for book manuscripts, baseline studies, reports, project proposals, media commentaries and website write-ups.
From mid-June to early September, 2025 (adjustable at the discretion of the organisation)
